It's been a while since I described a lesson I learned while repotting a plant. Recently I was pruning some of my plants and wondered what the plants thought about being trimmed.
When pruning a plant before Spring, one removes the ends of the branches, often cutting, trimming to guide the plant to be taller, bushier, thinner, or to take whatever shape is desired. The thick wood is often trimmed away to make way for more desirable parts of the plants, the leaves, flowers, or fruit.
It occurred to me that we do this in our lives from time to time also. We cut away the parts of our lives that no longer work for us, the parts that keep us from being the best we can be, thereby allowing the new fragrant flowers and leaves to grow.
Pruning ourselves is not easy, and does not always feel good. Sometimes what we trim away is pleasurable, but not good for us. Sometimes we know it is time to leave certain people behind, or certain practices in order to be the best we can be.
Deciding what to prune is a challenge. Just like when trimming a plant, it's important to trim enough, but not so much that the plant is killed. Trim just enough to enhance the beauty of that plant, and yourself.

Ceramics to Paint / Angel Figurines
One of my first loves in ceramics was angel figurines, including traditional angels, cherubs, and now my animal angel statues. Since I've had such a positive response to the addition of Ceramic Bisque to my Etsy shop, JillsTreasureChest
My newest listing is this lovely ceramic bisque angel figurine.
I also have this angel. This is a new angel for me, and I really like her.

New on Etsy!
I just listed these two items in my Etsy shop. The first one is a cup coaster with rooster decor that can be used as a kitchen trivet, a spoon rest or spoon holder, or a wine bottle coaster.

I also listed a vase. I sold a vase like this several years ago, and never made a new one until now.
Come check out these and other new items in my Etsy shop.

Unpainted Ceramic Bisque
I have enjoyed painting and glazing my ceramic pieces so much over the years, that I've decided to share this opportunity with my customers and friends. So several months ago I began adding a small number of listings in my Etsy shop for unfinished ceramics.
The first piece I listed was a nativity set.
I was fortunate to sell this one around Christmas.
Since then I've listed several more unfinished ceramic items. One of my favorite listings is for these little unicorns.
