One of my first loves is music and I have always enjoyed playing various instruments and singing. Music remains an important part of my life.
I later began writing short stories and then a novel, which has not been published. There is something very satisfying about having completed a novel and maybe someday I will complete another one that will be good enough to have published.
Crafting is something I really enjoy. I started sewing and crocheting as a teenager and later began making barrettes for my daughters. From there I went to making earrings and necklaces. One of my friends helped me get involved in setting up at craft shows, and I was hooked!!
I tried painting a few premade wooden pieces and loved that. One day I came home from work and my husband had purchased a scroll saw for me. He showed me how to use it and I started cutting out animals and other things to paint and sell.
It was much later that I became involved in ceramics, and I think I have found my passion. I still make jewelry and occasionally paint wooden signs, but I spend most of my creative time pouring, painting, and glazing ceramics. I have a pottery wheel, and have begun learning to use it, and I think I can become good at it, with continued practice.
I now have more time for creativity, since I have retired from my job. I'm working a lot on my ceramics, crocheting, and jewelry. I also have some vintage items that I'm selling on Etsy and EBay.
